Current Projects
What's the Big News?
Saturday, July 12th, my Mom broke her hip. Monday, July 14th she had surgery. Wednesday, July 16th she went home and she's been walking with a cane for the last week. She has staples outside and teflon inside.
The Chiropractic care is continuing to help me although I'm not "holding" adjustments very long yet. My digestion is greatly improved and I'm no longer achey when I wake in the morning.
Our garden hoses have been running on a timer for the last week. My seed starts did not do well this year. I'm thinking that the flourescent lights in my seed starter lost their intensity or coating and didn't prepare the plants for growing outside. My friend Eric had great results with some LED grow lights and I'm thinking I should swap mine out for those next year.
The Burke-Gilman trail has reopened partially on the section that was under construction (for more than a year) between my home and work. I have lengthened my bicycle commute so that it is now ten miles round trip.
At work, a new Netops lead is starting tomorrow.
What's new or updated on Alwanza?
I updated my Sys Admin script: rpm_backup. This is a script to use before doing updates with yum or up2date on RedHatEnterprise.
What hi-tech projects am I working on?
I'm exploring a linux backup solution for work. I'm learning how postfix and spamassassin work together with Active Directory. It appears as if they were not set up optimumly.
What else is going on in my life?
I'm in the early process of a project I can't mention till it's complete. It is taking up a lot of my time.
Any nature observances of interest?
My allergies symptoms are finally diminishing.
The 6 cherries on our young treee ripened just after July 1st and were immediately snatched up by birds.
This year the St. John's wort bloomed on July 2nd instead of on June 21st as it usually does.
