What's the Big News?
I'm hoping to be able to box up the server at work today and send it off to Valdez.  I've been working on it for a year.  It will take me about 2 weeks to complete the next one.  ...which is coming right up because we are in the process of purchasing one for the Whittier office.

What's new or updated on Alwanza?
I had a physical and geeky weekend, my favorites!  I finally got to some of the projects that I had intended to do years ago.  On Alwanza, my visitor statistics page can now be sorted, ascending or descending, by any of the columns.

I also put a picture of myself (and a friend) on the index page.  I'm planning to put up my pages of the "Story of Humbaba" this week.

What hi-tech projects am I working on?
I'm still working on various tweaks for the seattlelinuxchix.org mailing list.  What I completed this weekend is a very beautiful membership submission form written in Perl, CGI, and Javascript and accessing Sendmail.  Because this works so well, I have now removed my email address from the Web site and I will be able to do the same thing for Alwanza.

I returned the Linspire computer to Fry's but I still want to make a DNS box.  I've got lots of dead Windows98 boxes around my office at work and I'm thinking one of them would fit the bill and I could have it for free, if the boss agrees.  I'll ask this week.

What else is going on in my life?
Tom and I bicycled 10 miles on an extended south Seattle trip Saturday that included Seward Park.  I'm still running that quarter mile stretch during my mile walk at lunch.  I'm no longer running at the slowest humanly possible speed, but one notch up from that.  I break into what might be considered a jog (but for me it's a sprint) for the last half.  It has taken me months to get where I am now.

You'd think with all this physical activity I'd be losing some weight by now.  I'm not.  I figure I must be bulking.  I'm hungrier so my calorie intake must have increased to match my activity.  The trick is to do enough exercise to out run my appetite, and since I am a "woman of appetites" that isn't the easiest thing to do.

Any nature observances of interest?
Forget Spring, it feels like it could be Summer here already.  Everything has burst into bloom in early March - some years it doesn't look or feel like this till the end of May.  I sure hope we get enough rain this year!  I've been enjoying the outside:  planting, weeding, running, bicycling....  I can't complain.
