What's new or updated on Alwanza?
The August colors are the same as last year's and they are late.  If you have been following my Current Projects you are probably wondering what's up now?

Tom and I bought a house and we will be moving into it starting next week.  Finding a house takes time, moving takes time, preparing (repairing) the old house to sell takes time, and I haven't had a lot of time for Alwanza, hence the tardiness and lack of new projects.

Also, I know I haven't mentioned it before, but I'm not exactly at my physical peak these days.  About 5 months ago I reinjured my right ankle which was malformed from birth and has always given me some trouble.  The last decade or so it has given me more trouble than I care to have in my life, so I'll be surrendering myself to go under the knife for the second time to repair my leg/ankle/foot birth defects.  The hope is that after the operation, I'll be able to go backpacking again, and hike for a few miles without pain.

Right now, I'm in constant discomfort, and in some pain with every step.

What hi-tech projects am I working on?
I still need to complete the volunteer work I'm doing for BFREE.  I'm horribly behind on my freelancing.   Patt has taken over doing Resource Maximizer during my busy time.

Just when I think I'm starting to get a handle on some of the load at work, they spring big new projects on me.  I guess that's job security.  I'm pretty sure I'll never run out of work.  They are talking about adding a new office.

Of course, there is still the usual stuff to deal with like old computer parts wearing out and needing to be replaced, new computers needing to be loaded with software and configured, printers requiring troubleshooting....

What else is going on in my life?
Last weekend I co-officiated at my friends' Mike and Deb's wedding.  It was a great experience, both because of the good feelings I have about the marriage, and because the wedding itself was a wonderful and memorable experience.  My co-officiators were Leon and Willow and I enjoyed working with both and each of them.

You probably want to know about the move.  Tom and I found a nice house all on one level (so it will be a good place for my ankle to heal).  I may need to change ISPs - I'll find out this week.  I may take the opportunity to move Alwanza to a different host server....  We'll see.

Any nature observances of interest?
Seven years ago, for our third anniversary, Tom and I planted an apple tree.  This semi-dwarf tree now has hundreds of apples on it.  I'm going to have to prune some of them off soon, the limbs are bending to the ground!

We currently have 2 hummingbirds visiting our feeders.  It is going to be hard to figure out what to do with the bird feeding stations.  If we leave them where they are, there is no guarentee that the new owners will appreciate them and feed the birds.  We'll probably take them with us.  At least the hummingbirds will still have the treemallow flowers.
